Questions people ask us
What does "Roowaj" mean?
رواج (Roowaj) is what happens when goods move — brisk trade, merchandise in demand, a shop whose things sell. It is what we want to be true about your shop, so we named ourselves after it.
I am not good with computers. Can I still do this?
If you can post a photo to Instagram, you can open a shop here. There is nothing to install and nothing complicated to configure — you type a name, add products and pick a template. The «Get your store ready to sell» guide in the dashboard walks you through each step, with short video lessons.
Can I change how my shop looks after it opens?
Yes, whenever you like. Pick from the free templates, try one and edit it without your customers seeing, then publish it. Your products and orders stay exactly as they are, and your library keeps up to ten templates to go back to.
Do my customers need to download anything?
No. They tap your link, browse, and order in the browser they already have. Nothing to install on their side either.
How do I know an order has come in?
You get a notification for every new order the moment it arrives, and the order shows up in the dashboard's order list straight away. You're also notified when a product sells out or runs low.
How do I actually get paid?
However you get paid today — cash on delivery, bank transfer, or an arrangement of your own. Roowaj records what has been collected and what has not; it does not sit between you and your money.
Can I use my own domain name?
Not yet. Every shop gets a free yourname.roowaj.com address to start with, and custom domains are on the roadmap.
What happens to my shop when the free period ends?
Your shop, your products and your orders stay exactly where they are. We will tell you well in advance what changes and give you a choice.
Is the shop in Arabic?
Yes, and properly so — right-to-left layout, Arabic typography, and Arabic-first product pages. English is there too, and your customers pick.
